Drawing, graphic arts and poster exhibition

Tomasz Pietrek is a graduate of the Faculty of Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. Since 2020, he has been a professor at his alma mater. He is the head of the Poster Studio at the Faculty of Graphics and Media Art. His interests include drawing, graphics, painting, posters and graphic design. He has participated in over 180 national and international exhibitions. He authored numerous graphic designs for cultural institutions, including publications and posters. For 10 years he has been the art editor of the FORMAT Art Magazine.

The works presented at the exhibition remind people of their impending and fatal fate, manifest the disappointment at the world’s futility, its evanescence. Their author purposefully reaches for both representational and non-representational elements, objectivism and emotional subjectivism.
